My latest project is based around creating narratives of the Newtown area. I have been documenting the unique aesthetics in the area and have created a range of decorative plates that communicate the three major aesthetics of Newtown. These are Youth culture, old decayed architecture and modern architecture.

Each plate provides a rough location map to find your way around the suburb and begin your own journey of aesthetic discovery. The suburb is a great historical and cultural source of inspiration for artists and designers, it is hoped that I have provided a snapshot of the interesting landscape such an urban and cultural inner city area can provide. Each plate is recycled from restaurants and caterers who can no longer use them due to surface scratching. By providing a new way of using these plates it is hoped that they will be re introduced into the consumer society, which unfortunately is currently throwing away homes wares at an alarming rate.
